Homemade Slingshots
Some people still make old fashioned homemade style slingshots, like the famous Rufus Hussey.
Rufus Hussey was known as “the bean shooter man” because of his expert marksmanship. Rufus could hit a June-bug off a leaf from a considerable distance.
He started making and shooting slingshot when he was a kid growing up during the great depression out of necessity, and later went on to make them for fun. Rufus passed away back in 1994 after more than 50 years of slingshot mastership.
Still other people who make wrist rockets may carve beautifully engravings in the stocks and will also use exotic woods. They can become quite fancy.
Today’s modern wrist rocket manufactures use the very best rubber and leather pouches making these more than just toys, but rather highly tuned weapons that are fun to own and shoot.

The average speed and distance of a wrist rocket is slightly less than that of a paintball gun, but a wrist rocket can serve as a great backup weapon, or it can be used as a silent sniper weapon. The hand rocket has a long history as a toy for children, as a hunting weapon, as well as being used in war. Some say that the wrist launcher was first invented in Russia, "Rogatka" means slingshot in Russian. The ancient "Rogatka," was a smaller simpler version of the hand rocket. They have come a long way and are the perfect thing for hunting or driving off nasty critters that get into your garbage!

High Velocity Wrist Rocket Slingshots
High velocity slingshots typical use a special polymer that provides effective rages of well over 300 meters. With light-weight aluminum frame these slingshots are great for shooting marbles, steel balls and paint balls. Great backup or quiet sniper weapon that you can use during paintball wars! Also a great choice for hunting as well! Great for hunting, target shooting, and just to have fun outdoors! Barnett is probably the most popular choice. Barnett offers a great selection for hunting as well as just having some fun and games with the family, Barnett has just what you are looking for. I will continually update this site with all the latest deals.
Inexpensive Beginner Slingshots
Home-made slingshots were a popular childrens' toy for much of the past century, before there were video games! I made a few myself when I was a kid. The low projectile velocity was generally considered to be safe, but it is possible to construct a wrist rocket with enough power to cause true bodily harm, especially at close range. Watch out for the band breaking and hitting you in the eye as well. Safety glasses are a good idea when shooting a weapon like this.
